But it was a REAL strong one for many years. I was talking to my brother, he lives in NT East, where the phoon hit directly. He remember the Typhoon Wendy, (I think it is the one that blow an oil tanker on shore of Lamma Island?) he thought it was similar. May be his memories is failing. ( As this one is only no.9 for a few hours.) There was an old film call typhoon no.10, really recalls the old HK in the fifties, where most people lived in squatter areas. Before there was TV Lion Rock, it was Typhoon no.10, may be it was a Pheonix production or some left wing film production in the 50s-60s. anyone knows? It was a quick typhoon. But it was a REAL strong one for many years.
